Dark Clouds Silver Lining will be hosting a donation drive on behalf of Community Aid Network MN (CANMN)! We’re looking for volunteers to help out the day of the event, but will also need help spreading the word to folks to participate in the donation drive itself.
We are asking for volunteers to help facilitate a donation drive at Children’s Theater Company in Minneapolis. We’ll be splitting into two two-hour shifts (12pm – 2pm and 2pm – 4pm). Volunteers will be assisted by CANMN volunteer leads who will help direct either donation intake on the first level or sanitizing/sorting goods on the second level. CANMN will accept most donations, but they are especially in need of:
– Diapers (sizes 5, 6, 7, pull-ups/toddler size)
– Detergent (preferably pods or small jugs)
– Deodorant
– Cooking oil
– Flour & sugar
– Toilet paper
– Maxi pads
About CANMN: Community Aid Network MN is a mutual aid coalition founded by volunteer leaders from Pimento Community Relief, MCAD/The People’s Library, and Provision Community Restaurant. They distribute food, personal hygiene products and household goods on Mondays and Wednesdays and deliver to homes on Saturdays. They are a 100% volunteer run group operating out of the Children’s Theatre Company and Minneapolis Institute of Art. CANMN removes barriers to receiving aid by having a no questions asked policy; no paperwork or identification is required. They serve an average of 120 families per week mostly from Minneapolis but also surrounding suburbs.
