Itasca Hostel Takeover 2017
Dark Clouds Silver Lining are hosting our 5th annual getaway to the beautiful Itasca State Park, from October 5-7 (Saturday-Monday). We recommend taking Monday, October 7th off to make the most of the weekend.
We will be staying overnight at the Hostel–then watching the Loons take on the Seattle Sounders on Sunday, kick off at 3pm. Join us as we grill, chill and enjoy nature with our favorite friends in football.
There will be an optional short Silver Lining volunteer event at the Hostel, Sunday 12:00-2:30, where we’ll be cleaning and installing storm windows at the Hostel. In past years we have also built benches, repaired flower boxes, installed security cameras and done repairs. Similar opportunities may arise.
Cost
The cost is $30 per person for the 2 nights. The hostel is giving everyone their second night free so that is the price whether you stay for one or two nights.
There are a few private rooms available and you can email Bill McGuire ( billmcguire.mn at gmail ) if that is of interest to you.
Other Notes
The State Park entry fee is not covered in the price, and is issued on a per-car basis.
There are only 27 beds available in the Hostel, so snag yours today.
You must be 21 or older to drink alcohol at this event.
Camping: Anyone wishing to camp rather than stay in the hostel is welcome to join us for activities at the hostel, including of course watching the MNUFC match. Information on camping is available at the DNR web page for Itasca State Park.
Bike, kayak, and canoe rentals are available across the street from the hostel.
