The Dark Clouds joined The Sanneh Foundation for their annual Legends Cup fundraiser on December 23rd. Team SilverLining and other participants raised $775 to support the family of John Sylvester. John was an important figure in the Minnesota soccer community who passed away this summer after battling ALS

The Dark Clouds were able to field two teams of seven for the day long tournmanet, which included a SilverLining Derby in the first match. There were four more matches throughout the day, resulting in many scrapes, bruises and sore bodies. A good, but humbling, reminder that we are not as young as we used to be.

One of the fun and unique aspects of this fundraiser is the chance to play alongside soccer legends. This year’s group of legends included Tony Sanneh from The Sanneh Foundation, current MNUFC Sporting Director Manny Lagos, MNUFC Director of Player Personnel Amos McGee and English soccer legend Alan Merrick.
