Six or more volunteers are needed to help out with the Amputee Soccer Clinic at the National Sports Center on Wednesday, July 18th from 4:00 to 6:30. We will be assisting members of the US National Amputee Soccer Team introduce the beautiful game to local youth or adult amputees who are interested in playing soccer.

Silver Lining Event –  Amputee Soccer Clinic
Wednesday, July 18th from 4:00 – 6:30 pm
at the National Sports Center before the MN Stars FC game.

This is a great way to give back to our community and spread our passion for the sport. After the clinic we will invite the participants to join us at the pre-game tailgate with a cold Surly and Buffalo Wild Wings, and then into the stadium to cheer for the Stars as they take on the Fort Lauderdale Strikers.

At half time, the US Mens National Team will show off their skills as they take on a full-abled team. Let’s support these amazing individuals!!!

Contact Rich Harrison at rich@dark-clouds.com if you can help us. Please include your shirt size, because we are working on getting some shirts made for volunteers.

  1. FURTHER DETAILS:

We’ll be assisting the Men’s National Team during a 2 hour clinic for local amputee’s who are interested in learning about Amputee soccer. The organization’s hopes to establish set up a local team that would be part of a traveling league. This is the first step.

The clinic is set up into several segments.
    1. getting participants comfortable moving on grass
    2. Moving around cones and running
    3. getting touches on a soccer ball
    4. hopefully scrimmag.

This clinic is fairly new and there will be individuals of all abilities. We will be hands on through out the entire event. Setting up cones, passing the ball, helping them through out the whole process, encouraging them and giving them much needed support. All in the name of the Beautiful sport that pulls so many people together.

I’d encourage you to check out their national website. I’ve read about some of the players and they are truly inspirational!
