Silver Lining Second Harvest Heartland

Silver Lining Second Harvest Heartland

20 hardworking Silver Lining volunteers attended our service event at Second Harvest Heartland last night. We were tasked with repackaging crackers into 1lb bags that could then be distributed to hungry families in need.

Our clean room volunteers opened bulk packages of crackers, split the crackers into 1lb portions, and sealed them into plastic bags. Then our packing volunteers sorted donated banana boxes, re-weighed/re-examined the cracker bags, labeled the bags, and distributed 15 bags of crackers into each box.

Thanks again to all the volunteers who gave their time and effort to help make our community a better place! We hope to have even larger events with Second Harvest Heartland in the future.

After the service event we enjoyed a happy hour where Summit Brewing Company graciously provided drinks for volunteers. Thank you Summit!
