The Green Garden Bakery is a group of young-entrepreneurs from the Heritage Park neighborhood in Near North Minneapolis, who have started their own “green” environmental veggie dessert business.

We will be helping to build 7 raised planting beds with benches & climbing trellis, before filling them with soil. Lunch will be provided by Urban Strategies and the Summit Brewing Company will provide refreshments at the post Silver Lining party at a location TBD for participants.

The Green Garden Bakery entrepreneurs piloted their business in 2014 by selling green tomato cakes using recycled packaging and spreading environmental awareness. They grew the tomatoes in their own youth garden, harvested them, perfected their recipe, developed their brand and business, and worked hard throughout Minneapolis to procure sales.  Check out this mini-documentary made about their business: https://vimeo.com/113761423
